Dear Big Government…

Dear Big Government,

As a woman, I’ve always been told that I needed you. I’ve been told that even though you might not be pretty at some points, you were really the best thing for me, and that you would be my salvation someday. I’m sure there was a short point in my life where I bought that lie, but no more.

You see, I DON’T need you. All you have done is victimize me, disable me and tell me I can’t stand on my own and accomplish things. You told me that without you, no boss would pay me the same wage they would pay a man. I’m sure you were well intentioned when you ignored The Equal Pay Act of 1963 and lied to me by saying that I will only make 77 cents for every dollar a man makes, but I don’t really care.

I’m also sure that you care about the poor, but clearly, you don’t feel like doing anything to alleviate poverty since you think that higher taxation is the way to fix this issue. Rand Paul put it best when he said, “Charity is giving your own money, not someone else’s’.” So thank you Big Government, for telling me that I’m a horrible monster who couldn’t care less about those in poverty when I’m out there caring for the homeless and helping the less fortunate both through my money and through my time. I’m sorry you don’t like people being generous and compassionate on their own, but since your methods are so clearly not working, I think I’ll continue using mine.

And THANK YOU for making it so much simpler for thieves, rapists and murderers to harm women. Do I need to remind you once again that laws only apply to the citizens that choose to follow them? They do nothing to stop criminals. So, in your attempt to take away my Second Amendment rights, you are making it extremely easy for me to become the victim of a crime. Let’s be honest-waiting for the police is NOT an option when assault or death is upon us; we need the ability to defend ourselves with a weapon, and that is apparently something you do not want us to be able to do. You are totally bent on taking away my rights anyway, so obviously the fact that women had the right to bear arms before we had the right to vote means nothing to you.

I could go on and on, but frankly, I don’t want to. Big Government, we’re so done. You are the worst possible thing for me as a woman; you take away my rights, lure me into a false victimization and quite honestly…

you just really SUCK.
